He Will Call Her

As a Catholic, Mom believed that after death, good people go to heaven, and bad people burn in hell throughout eternity. But from the Bible, she learned the truth. She learned that the God of the Bible, Jehovah, is a God of love who would never punish anyone in an everlasting fire.
Mom learned that after death, she would simply fall asleep and await a resurrection to a paradise earth. At death, she would simply be unconscious. She would no long feel any pain or suffering. It would be like being in a deep sleep.
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten…Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going. - Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10
When his friend Lazarus died, Jesus likened the condition of death to sleeping… After he said these things, he added:
“Lazʹarus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him.” The disciples then said to him: “Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well.” Jesus, however, had spoken about his death. But they imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly: “Lazʹarus has died…- John 11:11-14
And, Jesus promised that, in the future, all those sleeping in death will wake up.
Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. - John 5:28, 29
Mom’s faith in these truths were very strong. And in her final days, it brought her much comfort because the biggest fear of death is the uncertainty. Studying the Bible, removed any uncertainty.
Mom knew, without any doubt, that she would go into a deep sleep and all her pain and suffering would be over. Mom would be in the safest place in the universe…in Jehovah’s memory. And because of her love and devotion to Him, she was confident that Jehovah would not forget her.
At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance was written before him for those fearing Jehovah and for those meditating on his name. - Malachi 3:16
Mom had faith that her name is written in Jehovah’s figurative book of life.
It took Mom almost a lifetime to find Jehovah and become friends with Him. That friendship with the Creator guarantees a resurrection to life on a paradise earth. Jehovah does not break His promises.
If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service Until my relief comes…You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands. - Job 14:15
So, when the time of the resurrection arrives, Jehovah will call her and Mom will wake up and answer Him.
Mom will come back to life young, strong and healthy. She will never have to experience pain and suffering again. And, she will be reunited with her friends and loved ones with the prospect of living forever on a Paradise earth.
With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” - Revelation 21:3-5
These are some the truths Mom cherished in her final days. Because Jehovah was real to her, His promises were real to her too.
Mom lived a wonderful life and even though she lived to 96, it was too short.
I can’t wait to see her again when she comes back…
For now, thank you for taking the time to remember my Mom, Eloise Mae Luzader.
